Reporting

All students who are registered in Grade 3 and Grade 6 must be accounted for, including English language learners, exempted students and students with special education needs.

The following categories of students identified by the school or board will not be included in school or board results (unless their inclusion is requested by the school or board):

  • home-schooled;
  • e-learning (only those students who do not reside within the jurisdiction of the school board offering the e-learning course); and
  • students whose permanent residence is outside of Ontario.

For more information about accounting and reporting for all students, refer to Accounting and Reporting for All Students, and Explanation of Terms. These documents outline the procedures for the accounting and reporting of results for students, including those with unique or special circumstances, with respect to their participation in EQAO assessments.

Individual Student Reports

Individual Student Reports (ISRs) will be provided to school administrators in the fall after students complete the Assessment of Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Primary and Junior Divisions.

IMPORTANT
School administrators must validate all student data during the administration dates for the ISRs to be available in the fall. Refer to the Validating Student Information section for more information.

School, board and provincial results will also be released in the fall of the next school year.

The ISR provides levels of achievement in reading, writing and mathematics for each student. For more information about scoring, please see the Framework documents for the Primary and Junior divisions.

NOTE
ISRs will available for all students, even if they were absent or exempted from every component (Reading, Writing and Math).

The following are sample ISRs for the primary and junior divisions.

REMINDER
Individual Student Reports contain personal information that is protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. As a result, the reports will be provided to the school administrator or delegate only (no one else will be given access to this information). Reports will not be sent to teachers. If the school administrator would like their teaching staff to view the ISRs, they will need to share the reports directly with them.
